Liberty Ship USA

Liberty Ship USA, a project of the Marietta OH 9-12 is a mobile classroom, will travel throughout the country to parades, schools, fairs and other events, accompanied by a cast of of characters representing our founders. Through the re-enactment of speeches and skits, they will educate young and old about the country’s founders and America’s historic and noble beginnings. The ship is approximately 15,000 lbs. 40 feet in length with 40 foot masts and yard arms (which are rigged in place at event locations). It is equipped with a dressing room, sound equipment and generator. The goals for this effort are to reach as many Americans as possible with the message of America’s high calling to freedom.

The ship/float was conceived, fabricated and built in Mineral Wells, WV by Rod and Debby Haverty with the help of many volunteers, including retired Air Force Lt. Col. Don Riley, who spent hundreds of hours working on the ship.
